Prime Video is set to add even more original content to its growing roster of homemade series and films in November, including James Corden's latest UK comedy Mammals, and Harry Styles' gay period drama My Policeman. With the streaming service's blockbuster £395m Lord of the Rings spinoff's first season coming to an end in October, Prime Video is bolstering its offering with new star-studded series and films, including Meet Cute - a romcom time travel series starring Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson.

Emma Corrin and David Dawson took center stage during the My Policeman premiere at the BFI London Film Festival.

Emma Corrin showcased her edgy sense of style as she stepped out to the My Policeman premiere during 66th BFI London Film Festival at the Royal Festival Hall on Saturday. The actress, 26, wore a multicoloured one-shoulder mini dress with an abstract spray paint design. Screen star Emma's ensemble finished high above her knee, with the garment tied on her shoulder with a crimped length of material fanning out to the side.

My Policeman (2022), starring Harry Styles, is due to launch on the Prime Video streaming service just three weeks after it lands in cinemas worldwide, October 21. The film is a gay period drama produced by Amazon Studios, exploring the complexities of the love triangle involving 28-year-old Harry as a policeman in 1950s Brighton, his loving but unknowing wife (Emma Corrin), and a dishy local museum curator (David Dawson).

TORONTO – There is something overly familiar about Michael Grandage‘s “My Policeman.” Considering the lack of LGBTQ+ representation in media over the decades, tales of closeted gay men and their troubles are not exactly new. And stories about gay men who marry women to protect themselves from public persecution? Well, that’s a tale as old as time.

Emma Corrin just gets it. The actor delivered drama at the Toronto International Film Festival, stepping out in nothing but a high-cut bodysuit.

Harry Styles described the central theme of his new film My Policeman as “wasted time”.The Michael Grandage-directed film (based on the novel by Bethan Roberts) sees Tom (Styles), a 1950s English policeman, enter into a love triangle with his lover, museum curator Patrick (David Dawson) and wife, schoolteacher Marion (Emma Corrin). Flashing forward to the 1990s, the trio (played by Linus Roache, Rupert Everett and Gina McKee, respectively) attempt to repair their interpersonal damage from 40 years prior.Styles attended the My Policeman premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last night (September 11).

On a break from his Madison Square Garden residency, and shortly after the Don’t Worry Darling Venice Film Festival world premiere, Harry Styles hit Toronto as his Amazon Studios Prime Video feature drama, My Policeman, made its world premiere and to a great standing ovation at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

And stories about gay men who marry women to protect themselves from public persecution? Well, that’s a tale as old as time.

My Policeman, which had its World Premiere today at the Toronto International Film Festival, has its roots  in a novel by Bethan Roberts  which was actually based on a complicated love relationship between famed novelist E.M. Forster (A Room With A View, Howard’s End, Maurice), his male lover of 40 years, a policeman named Bob Buckingham, and Buckingham’s wife May Hockey who slowly came to realize her husband had a long standing affair with Forster, but even after he had suffered a series of strokes took care of the author in his later life so deep was their friendship. Roberts changed  the names and fictionalized it all for her book which is now the basis of Ron Nyswaner’s (Philadelphia) screenplay which explores the love triangle of three freewheeling friends in 1957 who each was hobbled by the mores of the time, repressing rather than expressing their own sexuality, even as the sexual desires and confusion hit a boiling point.

Fresh from a tumultuous Venice and a Madison Garden concert in between, Harry Styles was back on the festival circuit this weekend for the Toronto world premiere of Michael Grandage’s My Policeman.

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Grandage gathered the cast of My Policeman for two weeks of rehearsals prior to the start of principal photography. The sessions included choreographing intimate moments involving actors Harry Styles (Don’t Worry Darling), Emma Corrin (Lady Chatterley’s Lover) and David Dawson (The Last Kingdom), and Linus Roache (Homeland ), Gina McKee (Notting Hill) and Rupert Everett (The Happy Prince) who were playing the older versions of the younger actors.
