A release date has been announced for the upcoming Dear Evan Hansen movie!

Dear Evan Hansen, the hit , is coming to the big screen. The original show, with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, tells the story of an awkward high schooler who gets caught up in a lie after telling people he was best friends with a fellow student who dies by suicide. It's an emotional and socially relevant story that is now being adapted as a film. The musical won several including one for in the titular role, Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Direction.

Amy Adams has joined the cast of Dear Evan Hansen, Universal’s adaptation of the Broadway musical. Stephen Chbosky (Wonder) is directing the feature which has a script by StevenLevenson, who wrote the book for the stage musical.

Amandla Stenberg has joined the Dear Evan Hansen film adaption.
