Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rachel Morrison’s feature directorial debut Flint Strong has moved from Universal to MGM, with Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) coming aboard to star, Deadline can confirm. Henry joins an ensemble that also includes Ryan Destiny and Oluniké Adeliyi, as previously announced.

The movie stars Mescal and newcomer Frankie Corio.“Aftersun” is produced by Adele Romanski, Barry Jenkins and Mark Ceryak for Pastel and Amy Jackson for Unified Theory.

A24 has won North American rights to Charlotte Wells’ Cannes buzz title Aftersun.

A Black Lady Sketch Show and Ted Lasso scribe Ashely Nicole Black is emceeing the event, during which honorary awards will be bestowed on talk show icon Dick Cavett and Barry Jenkins, the latter of which is up for a WGA Award tonight for his limited series The Underground Railroad.

HBO is reportedly working on a fourth season of its crime-drama anthology series True Detective, tentatively titled True Detective: Night Country.Deadline broke the news of Night Country on Friday (March 18), claiming that Issa López and Barry Jenkins will steer production on the new season. It follows a similar report from last February, wherein HBO’s chief content officer, Casey Bloys, said he and his team were “working with a couple of writers to find the right tone and take” for a continuation of the True Detective format.Created by Nic Pizzolatto, the series first aired in 2014, with second and third seasons airing respectively in 2015 and 2019.

A fourth season of the anthology crime drama series True Detective is currently in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter.Sources told the media outlet that Issa Lopez and Barry Jenkins had been brought on to executive produce a new run of episodes that would be entitledTrue Detective: Night Country.The Hollywood Reporter also pointed out that HBO declined to offer any comments about the project, as deals have not been finalized as of yet. It is also believed that the season would feature two female leads.
