Perrie Edwards has hinted at an emotional upcoming song that will explore a past friendship. In an interview with the Zach Sang Show, Edwards revealed that her forthcoming debut solo album includes a track about a former friendship. “I can’t even listen to that song without crying,” she said. “It is about them and how, just no matter what, we didn’t see eye to eye.
There was no communicating there, it’s a really sad song.“I hope one day we can connect again and it can be good, but right now it’s just not, it wasn’t good.”Edwards said she was open to reconnecting with the song’s subject but didn’t know if they would be once they hear the track, as she’s “been very honest about the situation”.
She also explained that the track includes some “home truths” about the person, saying: “Maybe it will help that person grow.”After 11 years in Little Mix, Edwards embarked on her solo career earlier this year, releasing her debut single ‘Forget About Us’ in April.
She co-wrote the song, which reached the top 10 in the UK Official Charts, alongside Ed Sheeran, David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Christina Perri) and Steven Solomon.
