Manchester City's defence of their Premier League title continued with a fine 2-1 victory against Aston Villa on Wednesday night, where Bernardo Silva was the star of the show.
The Portuguese ace superbly volleyed home the winner in the second half, latching onto Gabriel Jesus' delivery to fire past Emiliano Martinez and ensured City remained just a single point behind leaders Chelsea.
Silva has been in electric form this season but has now been dragged into the midst of a fierce debate, with Pep Guardiola sparking a new stage of the rivalry with fellow title rivals Liverpool.
Speaking after the win at Villa Park, he said: “He is the best. He was the best two or three seasons ago. He was the best then too.
