Manchester City might have made history at Newcastle, but their manager feels they can be far better. City's 4-0 win on Sunday was their 34th Premier League win of 2021, setting a new English record for top flight victories in a calendar year.
Guardiola was unhappy with his side's first half performance, though, as they were gifted an opener and went 2-0 ahead from an individual Joao Cancelo strike.
That killed the game, despite City being far from their best, and they were able to run out 4-0 winners in the end thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling.
But Guardiola was still hung up on what he felt was a poor first 45 minutes when reflecting on yet another record his City side have set.
