The Catalan coach expects very specific things from his full-backs and so Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker, Danilo, Joao Cancelo, Angelino and Oleksandr Zinchenko were all signed to satisfy him.
Very few have in fact satisfied Guardiola, though. Despite this phenomenal outlay, City head into the summer transfer window with both full-back positions, on the left and right, far from settled.
Walker remains Guardiola’s first choice right-back, but has suffered a decline in his game over the last two seasons, while at left-back Mendy and Zinchenko have both been used, with neither really nailing down
