People making a new claim for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) may be able to complete the entire application online after the launch of a new digital process.
It’s important to note that new claims for PIP have been replaced in Scotland by Adult Disability Payment (ADP) which is a similar benefit offering financial support to working age people with a disability, long-term illness or physical or mental health condition.
The ‘PIP online apply’ service is only available to people in certain postcode areas, but not only can you now check on the dedicated section at GOV.UK if this applies to your area, but you can also check your eligibility for PIP, which could provide extra cash help of between £26.90 and £172,75 each week.
The guidance on GOV.UK also explains that anyone starting the PIP process online needs to have a few things to hand, including your National Insurance number, email address and mobile phone number - find out more here.
