Pedestrian hit by bus in Glasgow city centre as emergency services close area

A pedestrian has been hit by a bus in Glasgow city centre. The incident happened on North Hanover Street, close to the Buchanan Bus Station, at 1.45pm on Tuesday.

Police officers closed off the area between Cowcaddens Road and Killermont Street with two ambulance vehicles also in attendance.

The condition of the pedestrian is currently unknown while road diversions are in place for drivers.Police Scotland shared a short statement on social media after the incident.It said: "North Hanover Street is currently closed between Cowcaddens Road and Killermont Street, following a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian."The incident happened around 1.45pm on Tuesday, 20 August, 2024.

Emergency services are in attendance and diversions are in place."A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 13:44 today to North Hanover Street, Glasgow.
