A giant pothole on one of the busiest sections of road in Scotland has been causing chaos for drivers. The "crater" has appeared on the sliproad off the M8 at the south end of the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow.Dubbed 'the Grand Canyon' by stunned viewers, several drivers have reportedly had to fork out hundreds of pounds on repairs after hitting the pothole.Lewis Smith claimed he has helped three people who'd driven over the tarmac cavity on junction 20 and caused damage to their vehicles, reports Glasgow Live.He said: "The pothole has severe sharp edges which caused three vehicles to burst tyres as it takes up almost half of the nearside lane."The three vehicles who burst their tyres were slightly older ladies in their car themselves and were at a loose end as to what to do so I volunteered to get pictures for them as it is a dangerous bit of road."None of the ladies had spare tyres in their car so had to await recovery, one vehicle was a brand new Porsche which had a puncture and cost £400 for a new tyre."Calling for rapid action to repair the fault, he said: "This is a slip road from a motorway, it's absolutely disgraceful.

The two lanes at this point are very narrow so it is very difficult to avoid it. "A nervous driver will hit that pothole and that could possibly cause them to swerve and hit another car or crash into the barrier, with the possibility of children in the car.

Just think of people's lives."Lewis shared the post on Facebook group Potholes Make Glasgow, who often campaign for the city's roads to be repaired, and it's left several motorists furious.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top
