The answer Manchester United's midfield problem could already be in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad, club legend Paul Scholes has said.
United had a busy summer transfer window as they signed long-term target Jadon Sancho, Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and brought fan favourite Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.
But they have come in for criticism in some quarters for not addressing the defensive midfield area, often relying on playing Fred alongside Scott McTominay at the base of midfield.
But according to Scholes, this has led to Solskjaer's side 'lacking balance' – and shows a 'difference in mentality' to local rivals and defending Premier League rivals Manchester City.
