Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has been discharged from UC San Diego Health hospital after suffering a punctured lung against Manchester United on Wednesday.
The attacker collided with Reds goalkeeper Nathan Bishop while trying to latch onto a bouncing through ball early in the pre-season fixture.
The friendly was halted for a number of minutes as Mullin received oxygen on the pitch from medical staff. He was able to walk off, with the aid of an oxygen mask, and taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a small puncture to the lung while his team ran out 3-1 winners against a youthful United side, who were reduced to 10 men upon Dan Gore’s second-half red card.
Mullin has since been discharged and will now begin his recovery. Writing on Twitter he said: “Discharged, Thank you to everyone @UCSDHealth for the incredible care!
