Gladiator II star Paul Mescal is to star as Sir Paul McCartney in four new Beatles biopics about The Beatles.The films will see him team up again with director Sam Mendes according to Gladiator II’s director Ridley Scott.The filmmaker let the cat out of the bag in conversation with Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan when asked about his next project.When questioned as to whether his swords-and-sandals sequel's star Mescal would star in the movie, as has been widely reported, Scott revealed that he is.Scott had been hoping to make a film called The Dog Stars with Mescal but says he could have to wait due to the Fab Four projects, each of which concentrates on the life and career of a different member of the Beatles.“Yes,” Scott said in response to the question about whether Mescal would star in The Dog Stars.Scott then added: “Maybe.
