The Beatles legends Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr have given fans a night to remember with an epic reunion at London's O2 Arena.
Sir Paul, on the final leg of his Got Back Tour, surprised attendees by welcoming Sir Ringo onto the stage during his gig on Thursday, 19 December.The iconic drummer expressed his joy, saying, "I've had a great night tonight, it's been a great show." Together, they rocked out to classics like Helter Skelter and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band before Sir Ringo bid farewell, telling the crowd, "I'm off now, I've had a great night and I love you all." Adding to the star-studded evening, Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood joined Sir Paul for a rendition of Get Back, where Sir Paul played his original Hofner 500/1 bass for the first time in five decades after it was stolen in 1972.The performance marked the end of a tour that took Sir Paul across cities like Paris, Madrid, and Sao Paulo, including two shows at Manchester's Co-Op Live and The O2.
Delivering a massive setlist filled with hits from The Beatles and Wings, the 82 year old music icon kicked off the show with A Hard Day's Night, maintaining his tradition of no opening acts and performing nearly 40 songs from one of the UK's most celebrated musical repertoires, reports the Mirror.
The crowd was treated to Wings' prog rock hit Junior's Farm and the bluesy rhythm of Letting Go, before Sir Paul sent fans into a frenzy with Drive My Car.
