A Greater Manchester town will have over 100 new homes built in the area - as plans have been approved by the local council.

The new homes off Stothert Street in Atherton, Wigan, will be a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes, all to be put on the rental market.

Applicants Northstone Developments Ltd, a subsidiary of Peel L&P, would manage the site that sits on former agricultural land - which is now vacant.

The developer explained that they have been designed as energy-efficient homes in a variety of sizes and styles to ‘accommodate a range of people at different stages of life’.
