Community groups across Clydesdale have been granted funding to offer locals a warm welcome.The Warm Welcome initiative, which was approved by the council in September last year, allows local groups to provide warm spaces in community settings and public buildings where members of the public are welcomed and can take part in activities.To support the initiative, a small grants scheme was created which offered a maximum of £1000 in funding to cover costs incurred by the Warm Welcome initiative.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

As the total exceeded the budget of £10,000 for the area, it was agreed that the additional £1600 would be met from the existing community grants budget for 2022/2023.The groups across Clydesdale who were granted funding for the Warm Welcome Initiative include: Abington Community Development Group, Greyfriars Parish Church in Lanark, Healthy Valleys in Clydesdale, Forth and District Development Trust, Youth, Family and Community Learning in Lanark, Forth and Wilsontown Bowling Club in Forth, ISKCON Scotland in Lesmahagow, Esteem Clydesdale in Lanark,
