Outlander author Diana Gabaldon is to be awarded with an honorary degree from a Scots university. The former president of Ireland Mary Robinson will also be among those to be awarded the ceremonial degrees by the University of Glasgow.
The university is awarding the accolades to people across Europe in recognition of their work around politics, science, arts and humanities.
They will be recognised in a ceremony on June 15.Outlander's Diana Jean Gabaldon Watkins grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona and has already earned three degrees: a B.S.
in Zoology, a M.S. in Marine Biology, and a Ph.D in Ecology. Mary Robinson was the first woman president of Ireland from 1990-1997.
