Nottingham Forest have provisionally agreed a deal to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson on a season-long loan.
Henderson, 25, is on honeymoon after getting married and is due to have a medical when he returns to complete the transfer. Newcastle were interested in Henderson and the England international held such encouraging talks he hoped to secure a move to St James' Park in May.
Henderson was then dropped from the United squad for their final game of the season at Crystal Palace. Also read: United set to submit improved bid for De Jong Newcastle have instead signed an identical profile of 'keeper to Henderson in his England teammate Nick Pope.
Burnley had not been relegated at the time Newcastle held initial discussions with Henderson and their Championship status made the £10million deal straightforward for Pope, also a long-term addition.
