Should two nominees receive the exact same number of votes from the 6,000 Academy members, they will both be named as winners and will both be given time to give their speeches.
It’s happened six times before!Most famously was when Barbra Streisand and Katherine Hepburn tied for Best Actress in 1969 (for films Funny Girl and The Lion in Winter).
Most recently, it occurred in 2011 when Skyfall and Zero Dark Thirty both won Best Sound Editing. I dunno about you, but i’d be quietly annoyed. . .
