A person has been rushed to hospital following a collision between three vehicles in Oldham this evening. Emergency services were scrambled to Shaw Road in Royton just after 7pm on Wednesday (July 19) to reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
One casualty was rushed to Royal Bolton Hospital with a suspected head injury. The road was cordoned off as fire crews attended to clear petrol that was leaking onto the road and make the area safe.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a damaged car in the middle of the road near Edge Lane Street, with two cars hit on either side. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 7pm on Wednesday 19 July, firefighters attended a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Shaw Road in Royton, Oldham. “One fire engine from Chadderton Fire Stationattended the scene, where there were reports of petrol leaking from one of the vehicles.
Firefighters removed the vehicles, which were blocking the road, and made the area safe. One person with shoulder pain and a suspected head injury was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital.” Greater Manchester Police did not comment on the incident.
