A man was subjected to a frightening acid attack after going to his local shop to buy sweets for his friend’s child. The man, who had previously had a confrontation with 18-year-old Kayden Ainsley, was approached by a group of three including Ainsley and Casey Thomas Kenworthy, 24, outside the shop in Moston.
Minutes later one of the men threw a substance into his face. It was later found to be hydrochloric acid. READ MORE: 'He left us with a tear in his eye' He was left with swelling, redness and discomfort to his skin and eyes.
Fortunately due to the fast acting shopkeeper who helped wash some of the acid off, he did not suffer more serious injuries, Manchester Crown Court heard.
Ainsley and Kenworthy, both from Blackley, denied throwing the acid, but by the fact both admit they were present, they were treated as equally present.
