United co-chairman Joel Glazer was one of the architects of the attempted breakaway league, which collapsed within 48 hours after widespread protests from supporters, as well as condemnation across the game and from the government.
On Wednesday Glazer wrote an open letter to the United supporters to apologise for the ESL project and to insist he wants to rebuild trust with supporters and improve communication.
