Jamie Carragher doesn't believe the Manchester United fan protests on Sunday were as a result of the proposed Super League plans.
The Red Devils were one of six sides to sign up to the breakaway competition which angered those from all corners of football.
United owner Joel Glazer was one of the Super League's architects, but his side have since withdrawn amid huge fan backlash and the threat of penalties.
Fans have long had an issue with the club's ownership and previously staged protests against it. But the Super League plans have bought it all to a head following their demonstrations on the Old Trafford pitch.
