A North Lanarkshire primary school’s staff and pupils have been hailed following a visit from inspectors. Allanton Primary School was given a massive thumbs-up with Education Scotland inspectors revealing in their report, released this week, that attainment in literacy and numeracy is good.There was also praise for staff and their positive relationships with pupils.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Across all classes, there are positive interactions between staff and children and children and their peers. “Children are proud of their school and keen to share their learning.“Most children are engaged and motivated in their learning, particularly when it is linked to relevant, real-life contexts.
Most children feel that their teachers support them well in their learning.“Teachers have successfully created a positive reading culture across the school.”The report also praised the effective use of digital technology to support learning and teaching as well as lavishing praise on reading skills within the pupils.“In almost all lessons, teachers successfully use digital tools and resources to consolidate and enhance children’s learning,” the report continued.“Children
