Posthumous awards for two Lanarkshire cops killed in the line of duty

Two police officers who were murdered seven years apart in Lanarkshire have been honoured posthumously by First Minister Humza Yousaf.Constable George Taylor and Detective Sergeant William Ross Hunt were both killed in the line of duty, George in 1976 and Ross in 1983.Constable Taylor was murdered in 1976 after murderous duo Robert Mone and Thomas McCulloch absconded from the State Hospital in Carstairs, where they were being detained as patients.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

He and three other officers were attacked with a variety of weapons by teenage suspect Hugh Murray Jr and members of his family, as they attempted to arrest him.
