A new disturbing video appears to show several police officers holding down George Floyd before he died on Monday. The 46-year-old black man died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US, after a white cop was caught on video kneeling on his neck while he repeatedly groaned "I can't breathe" and pleaded “don’t kill me”.
Derek Chauvin, the officer keeling on Floyd’s neck while he was lying on the ground and in handcuffs, has been fired along with three other police officers.
Chauvin was arrested today, the BBC reports. A video widely circulated on social media showed Chauvin kneeling on Floyd before he loses consciousness, while witnesses on the street repeatedly tell him to back off and let Floyd breathe.
