Lee Bullen insists his old teammate Dimi Konstantopoulos can be an off field winner for Ayr United. The former Greek international has been unveiled as goalkeeper coach at Somerset Park after replacing Dave Timmins, who left to take up a role at Carlisle.
Konstantopoulos, a former AEK Athens and Middlesbrough number one, played with Bullen during a short spell together at Greek side Kalamata. The pair have kept in touch ever since and it's proved key to linking up again with Konstantopoulos jumping at the chance to join his old mate in South Ayrshire.
Bullen told the Ayrshire Post: "Timmo will be a huge loss to the football club but in Dimi we are getting someone of a really good pedigree and we are very lucky to have him.
I know him well from our time together in Greece and we've stayed in touch since then. "We were able to interview three or four high calibre candidates and the goalkeepers themselves had a massive input in the final decision because it is them who will be working with the new coach on a daily basis.
