Hollywood actress first appeared in the multi-million dollar franchise 25 years ago in 1996 but "sadly" won't be returning for the next film. This news could shock Scream fans, since the Canadian actress has starred in five Scream films, including four sequels: Scream 2 (1997), Scream 3 (2000), Scream 4 (2011) and, most recently, Scream (2022).However, after everything she has "brought to the franchise", Neve does not believe her "value" was reflected in the payment she was offered for a sixth film.
She explained to Deadline: "Sadly I won’t be making the next Scream film."As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream."I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise."For Scream 2022, Neve starred alongside Courteney Cox (who plays Gale Weathers) and David Arquette (Dewey Riley), who delighted fans by reprising their roles.Neve continued to reflect on her time in Scream, saying it was by no means an easy decision to cut ties.
