The first season of Netflix's South Korean drama Squid Game showed 456 contestants who fought to their death to win a cash prize in order to pay off their debts.
After three years of waiting, fans could finally watch season two of the franchise, released 26th December. Gi-hun won the first season of Squid Game, and season two follows him as he tries to lead hundreds of new competitors to safety.
Similar to the first season, the show still focuses on themes such as wealth, greed, and the exploitation of those who are less fortunate than the rich, with a particular focus on the corrupt healthcare system that is the reason behind many of the new competitors wanting to take part.
Gi-hun is determined to use his new found wealth from three years ago to destroy the games, and viewers see him in episode two preparing to storm the island.
