Netflix has teased a trailer for a Squid Game spin-off that sees real life contestants take on the gruelling challenges from the hit TV series - without the fatal consequences.
But fans have made a demand as the launch of the new reality show draws nearer. The South Korean thriller became an international hit when it premiered on the streaming platform in September 2021, earning 1.65 billion hours of viewing during its first 28 days.
Squid Game followed desperate, debt-ridden contestants as they fought it out to win a share of a huge prize pot. Only as the games progressed, they realised it was life or death, with people being eliminated in a variety of gruesome ways.
Now, 456 real-life players will be battling it out for a huge $4.56 million (£3.52 million) prize - the biggest cash prize in reality TV history.
