The streaming giant greenlit the music competition series in May, and Deadline understands that filming has wrapped on the show, which was produced by UK outfit Remarkable Entertainment.
Netflix will likely wish to move forward sensitively after Payne’s loved ones expressed their distress following the events of Wednesday, when he fell from his hotel balcony in Argentina.
It is not clear when Netflix was planning to premiere Building the Band, but most series for the streamer are in post-production for around three to six months.
