Having been in the country for some time and even attending Niall Horan's gig earlier in the month, his sudden death shook fans worldwide.
In memory of their friend, the One Direction members, including Louis Tomlinson, Zayn, Niall, and Harry Styles, released a joint statement and individual tributes on their Instagram accounts.
Zayn expressed in his personal homage that he "never got to say thank you" to Liam. Zayn was originally set to kick off his tour on October 23 at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, with the final American date planned for November 3 at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.
