The Farmer’s Boys finally found their shooting boots after hammering in-form Cumbernauld 4-0.Neilston have been stuttering up front in recent matches but rediscovered their clinical side at the Brig O’Lea Stadium as strikers Dylan Fletcher and Darren Jones both netted impressive braces.Co-manager Chris Cameron was over the moon to see his side start to bare their teeth in front of goal as he revealed both of his forwards were gutted not to net hat-tricks on the profitable afternoon.Cameron said: “We started very well.

We were on the front foot and were 3-0 up by half-time.“I was delighted with the overall performance and it’s probably the most in control we’ve been in a game in a good while.“The boys produced some really good finishes from the kind of chances we’ve been missing lately.“We’ve been creating plenty of opportunities but just not had the confidence or the quality in the key moment to stick them away.“The frustration has been building because of that and some anxiety had crept into the team.“Hopefully that’s a turning point for us because the guys were both disappointed not to get a hat-trick.

Fletcher hit the bar and Jones had another very good opportunity.“It’s great for their confidence and the team as a whole. Hopefully we can build on it going forward.”Unfortunately for Neilston, they have a fixtureless weekend coming up with Cameron admitting he’d much rather his team had another game to try and maintain the momentum they picked up after notching their second win on the bounce. He hopes the extra breathing space will allow key players to continue to recover after returning to the side against Cumbernauld, with Saturday’s win lifting the Farmer’s Boys back up to fourth in the First Division table.Cameron
