Former Nazareth frontman Dan McCafferty has died, aged 76. Pete Agnew, who is the only original Nazareth member still touring with the band, shared the news of his friends passing on Facebook. "Dan died at 12:40 today," Agnew wrote. "This is the saddest announcement I ever had to make.

Too upset to say anything more at this time." McCafferty co-founded Nazareth in 1968 and stayed with the group until 2013 but he was forced to retire due to health issues.
He was then replaced by Linton Osborne, and later, Carl Sentance.The singer retired from touring in August 2013 due to ill health.
