Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Neil Lennon will be transfixed on the East Dunbartonshire vista in the coming days as his international stars return after a week to forget.

Ryan Christie is out of Saturday's crunch clash with Rangers as he continues to self-isolate after Stuart Armstrong's positive test.

Israel pair Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed are also missing after their Covid diagnosis. Concern remains over Odsonne Edouard with the striker still in France after his positive result and he isn't expected back to Glasgow until Friday.

But while Lennon is up against it he and his Celtic team certainly aren't out. He may have to get creative in the pursuit of victory but the five-sub role could prove vital in his search of a positive result.
