Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Liam Burt on Aberdeen's radar as former Celtic midfielder earns shock Pittodrie invite

Rangers midfielder Liam Burt is at Pittodrie for Aberdeen’s Premiership clash with Hamilton this evening as he continues his hunt for a club.

The 21-year-old is in attendance as a guest of Aberdeen after leaving the Hoops in the summer. Burt had been training with Barnsley last month - scoring three times in friendlies against Sheffield Wednesday and Derby - but The Tykes decided against a deal.

He also had a short stint on trial at Sunderland. He left Celtic midway through a two-year deal after struggling to push his way into Neil Lennon ’s first team.

Burt returned to his boyhood club last summer after three years with Rangers where he featured three times for the top team under Mark Warburton.The five-times capped Scotland Under 21.
