Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.
Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.
Neil Lennon heaped praise on several Hoops stars for returning to their best after their fatal midweek slip-up. His side bounced back from a Champions League exit at the hands of Hungarian champions Ferencvaros to put Motherwell to the sword at Parkhead in a 3-0 win.
Winger James Forrest smashed home the opener after a turgid first 40 minutes and inspired his side to a much improved second-half performance.
And Lennon insists he, along with defenders Chris Jullien, Kris Ajer and Hatem Abd Elhamed, managed to shrug off their Euro nightmare to down Stephen Robinson's side.
Speaking to Celtic TV, he said: "That will do Jamesy the world of good."He looked far more like himself. As did Jullien, as did Ajer, as did Hatem."We're still working away.
