A leading charity says anti-Jewish hate is now 'absolutely the worst seen' in Greater Manchester since it began keeping records.

Community Security Trust (CST), which protects Britain's Jewish communities from anti-Semitism, says the problem has soared across the region following the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East on October 7.

At its latest count, CST recorded 262 anti-Semitic incidents in Greater Manchester, from October 7 to November 15. The charity says it has seen anti-Semitism in Greater Manchester increase by more than 880% since the Hamas attack on Israel and subsequent war in Gaza.

The charity's figures show Greater Manchester, which is home to the UK's largest Jewish community outside Greater London, has been the area worst affected by anti-Semitism outside the capital in recent weeks.
