He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family,' the Discovery rep said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.The brilliant roboticist, whostudied electrical engineering at the University of Southern California, officially joined 'The Build Team' asScottie Chapman's replacement in the third season in 2005 and remained until 2014.
