Despite being a seasoned globetrotter, I always find it challenging to pack light. However, with airlines now slapping on extra fees for checked luggage, I've been trying to stick to carry-on only – but this strategy almost backfired on a recent flight.

On a weekend jaunt to Dublin with Aer Lingus, I packed my trusty Briggs & Riley carry-on suitcase (my exact model isn't available anymore, but this one is similar).
