Music legend who worked with Black Eyes Peas and James Bond song dies

Sergio Mendes, the Brazilian musician who famously collaborated with The Black Eyed Peas , has sadly passed away at the age of 83.The Latin artist, renowned worldwide and known for creating soundtracks for the James Bond franchise, died in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.

Sergio was recognised with an Oscar nomination for his song 'Real In Rio', a collaboration with John Legend for the 2012 animated film Rio.

Over his impressive 70-year career, he bagged three Grammy awards. Known for his unique blend of samba-style bossa nova music often fused with funk, Sergio worked with a plethora of iconic artists, including jazz legend Herb Alpert.

In the 1980s, he contributed to the title song for the James Bond film 'Never Say Never Again'. He was also the leader of the iconic musical group Brasil '66.
