A “force of nature” mum who flew to Turkey for cosmetic surgery died after having a Brazilian butt lift procedure. Lauren Wood travelled to Istanbul for procedures including liposuction, a tummy tuck, breast surgery and the enhancement to her behind in May last year.

But while on the operating table at the clinic, her blood pressure and heartbeat dropped and she suffered a huge embolism, a blocked artery caused by a foreign body.
The former retail worker, who was mum to Indea and Rosey and grandma to Oskar, was rushed to hospital but passed away in the intensive care unit.
An inquest into her death heard the mum-of-two died after suffering a fat embolism, with a Royal Stoke consultant plastic surgeon saying it appeared that fatty tissue being grafted onto her behind as part of the ‘butt lift’ had poisoned her blood stream.
