Leigh, at around 3.30pm on Sunday, April 26. Officers found that a man had sneaked into the property through a rear door and stole a woman's handbag.The victim, a new mum who was holding her young baby at the time, discovered the thief and bravely challenged him.But he continued to steal the handbag before fleeing the scene.
Neither the woman or her baby were injured but the woman is 'shocked and appalled', say Wigan police officers. No arrests have yet been made and an investigation is underway.PC Swindlehurst, of GMP’s Wigan district, said: “This was brazen behaviour – to be confronted by a new mum, holding her young baby, and persist with a burglary demonstrates a lack of respect and morals.
