An expectant mum on her way to hospital was forced to stop at a Lidl and give birth in the supermarket. Natasha Thomson shocked shoppers when she realised she couldn't wait to arrive at the University Hospital of North Tees on May 21.
Instead the 33-year-old and proud dad Marc Voyzey, 31, had to deliver their daughter in the front seat of their car as paramedics rushed to the scene.
Just 11 minutes later Holly Jasmine had arrived. Natasha said: "It's definitely a good story to tell her when she's older. "It all happened so fast, it was a bit of a shock, we didn't expect it to happen this way." The mum, from Horden, County Durham, woke up in the morning with strong contractions.
