Mothers and babies across Ayrshire to benefit from thoughtful Christmas gifts thanks to nurse partnership

Mothers and babies across Ayrshire are set to receive thoughtful gifts this Christmas thanks to the teaming up of a family service and charities.

The Ayrshire Family Nurse Partnership - a service dedicated to supporting first time young parents and their families - have joined forces with a number of charities to donate presents and food hampers to 121 families across North, East and South Ayrshire.Recipients will receive a red Christmas Eve bag from the Night Before Christmas Campaign (NB4CC) charity, with each bag containing age specific goodies and treats for the youngsters in the family.Some families will also receive a food hamper from the South Ayrshire Food Bank, a toy from the South Ayrshire Christmas Toy Bank, as well as a gift card from the Giving Tree.Further donations have also been made by Hillhouse Care as well as East Ayrshire Community Churches.Abi Nicholl, Family Nurse from the Family Nurse Partnership, which is hosted by the South Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP), said it is a “true privilege” to be able to gift to others this Christmas.She said: “Our families are so grateful for the fabulous gifts provided.“It is a true privilege for us as a team to deliver on behalf of the charities.”Rosemary Robertson, associate nurse director, said: “I am blown away by the donations we have managed to arrange, the generosity being shown really is in the spirit of the season.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.T
