The mother of a 12-year-old girl was at her bedside in hospital when she died, an inquest has heard. Aneliya Lazarova passed away at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital on June 11, area coroner Zak Golombek told Manchester Coroners' Court.

She had been transferred from Alder Hey Hospital on February 3. Aneliya suffered with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and her 'ventilator requirements had increased', the court heard. Mr Golombek said the 12-year-old was withdrawn from treatment and died. He mentioned a hospital report which notified the coroner's office of Aneliya's death and referenced a bone marrow transplant she had undergone earlier in her treatment for relapsed acute myeloid leukaemia - a cancer of the blood and bone marrow.

The court heard that on June 13, police coroners' officer Joanne Clarke-Such contacted Aneliya's mother Desis Lazarova, who confirmed her daughter was a patient at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and that she was at her bedside when she died.
