Mike Tyson has admitted he still visits the “oldest friends I’ve ever had” who are in prison serving life sentences. The American became the youngest ever heavyweight champion at 20 years old in 1986, going on to record 50 wins in 58 fights.
But the 53-year-old did not get the best start in life, getting arrested 38 times before turning 13 years old. It saw Tyson spend time in a detention centre before meeting Cus D’Amato at the Bridges Juvenile Center in the Bronx, Brooklyn, USA.
