The festive spirit is everywhere as the Royal Family comes together at their Sandringham estate in Norfolk to ring in the Yuletide season, surrounded by elegance and the occasional quirky Royal custom.

Mike Tindall has given us a sneak peek into what it's like behind those grand palace doors during the regal Christmas festivities.

According to Princess Anne's son-in-law, who joined the fold after marrying Zara Tindall in 2011, the big Christmas lunch is quite the occasion with senior royals and grown-ups getting pride of place at the main table.

Meanwhile, little royals such as Prince Louis enjoy their Yule feast in a special kiddies' area. It was during his own podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, that Mike spilt the Royal beans on the lunchtime seating arrangements in a light-hearted exchange with co-hosts James Haskell and Alex Payne.The banter was ripe with anticipation as James and Alex playfully probed: "Do you find yourself upgrading every year and getting closer to the main table or are you off out the back?" even joking further about a possible promotion or demotion system based on how the year went.
