Michael Carrick has chosen Rio Ferdinand to play as a goalkeeper in his dream Manchester United six-a-side team. The current United coach has picked himself along with five former teammates as part of his ideal team from his playing career at Old Trafford.
Carrick played in front of two legendary goalkeepers in Edwin van der Sar and David de Gea during his time at United, but it is Ferdinand who he has picked in net.
The former United defender featured in goal when Sir Alex Ferguson's side crashed out of the FA Cup quarter-finals against Portsmouth in 2008, conceding a penalty to Sulley Muntari when substitute keeper Tomasz Kuszczak had been sent off after replacing the injured Edwin van der Sar.
