Disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti is scheduled to go to trial April 26 for allegedly stealing $300,000 from former client Stormy Daniels and forging her signature.

The date for the approximately two-week trial was set during a telephone hearing Tuesday in Manhattan federal court. Prosecutors allege that Avenatti embezzled funds that the adult film actress earned from her memoir “Full Disclosure,” which includes passages about her alleged pre-White House affair with President Trump.

Adult film star Stormy Daniels, left, said she was paid $130,000 by Michael Cohen in exchange for her silence about an alleged sexual encounter with President Trump in 2006 in the days leading up to the 2016 presidential election.
